    Starting line 6/12-13

Anyone like to post some detail about this? Should we register to show support for SCCA national? I have had a couple of guys ask me about this and I don't have any info.

Obviously it could be cancelled if the V is still active.

Back in the day, I took an autox school that was staffed with national event level guys, been so long I forget what it was called. It was at Fontana and ran well. The instructors flew in from all over to teach. This like that??? It was at least 12 years ago.

This would be a nice event to be held at the Lake Elsinore location, just IMO

More Starting School info can be found here: https://www.scca.com/pages/starting-line

My guess is you may have been to an Evolution School if it was years ago. This is similar, but targeted at newer racers and introduction to SCCA. There are a lot of goodies for entries to a Track Night in America, National Solo event, your annual membership, etc.

The event is actually run by the SCCA National Staff, and yes instructors are brought in. We coordinate as the local region to supply all the equipment, setup and breakdown, timing, etc.

I think we're all in the wait and see mode, and we'll let you know status when we make that decision with the National staff.

    Hi,

Yes, saw all that, but a hat and a magazine & etc. not really what anyone except a 100% noob wants. Will stay posted. Thanks.

Right, it was the Evolution school had different levels, was geared IMO to more seasoned members, but even a beginner got great instruction, I remember both noobs and experienced guys attended, instructors were like top 10 finishers at nats. Wow, excellent.

"National staff" might want to rethink this if they do it and broaden out the attraction to more than just noobs. If the economy takes the long way around to rebound, not sure how many noobs will shell out for something they may like or not. But add a dozen or two who would pay for that level, you might fill up the event. Feel free to pass this along, I don't really communicate with many national staff like some others in our region do.
