AutoX Where and when in SoCal?

I found this site http://www.sdr-scca.com/solo2/ It says there is some kind of championship this weekend. Is that open to anyone? and it doesn't list a time.

I really want to start getting into autocross here. I did it a few times in CT with CART. It seems a lot easier to find an event than it is here. Maybe I am looking in all the wrong places?

    Hi Ten!

The event Sat is a CHAMP event, so it is open to everyone, with certain conditions.

All participants MUST be members of the SCCA. This is true for all our events. We sell day passes to the SCCA for 15.00, good for a credit if you join the SCCA within 60 days.

You also MUST be a member of our Region (San Diego), which is shown by the number on your car (so you really are buying a permanent number). We also sell days passes for that for 5.00, good for a credit if you purchase a permanent number by the end of the year (it's 25.00 without the credit). Once you have a permanent number (what we call a 'solo card') it is only 10 dollars to renew each year.

Every single person who runs in our region has paid the above costs. Including me, including Mike (the above poster, #722).

While the divisional event (the link Mike posted) does NOT require a permanent number, you still HAVE to be a member of the SCCA to enter it. Plus it is in LA, not San Diego.

'Go slow to go fast' they say'. Heh. Trust me...... when it comes down to the fast ones? They go fast to go fast.

The schedule can be found here: http://www.sdr-scca.com/solo2/schedule/

Just come out this Saturday and sign up. If you don't have a helmet, you can borrow one for free at the timing trailer. Well, you do have to leave your driver's license so that you'll return the helmet.

You can run X-Class which allows you to run in any group or you can pick a class suitable for your car. If you have car classing questions, just throw them out here and someone will help you out.
